Mr. Horgan is a graduate of Fordham University (B.A. 1972) and Brooklyn Law School (J.D. 1975).  He was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 1976 and the Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern District in the same year.

From 1976 to 1978, Mr. Horgan was associated with Wilson, Elser, Edelman & Dicker concentrating his practice in general litigation. From 1978 to 1980 he was Assistant General Counsel with the Home Insurance Companies.  In 1980 Mr. Horgan started his own practice, concentrating in the area of matrimonial law.

He has appeared on NBC’s The Today Show and other national and local television shows.  His book on divorce, “Winning Your Divorce:  A Man’s Survival Guide” was published by Penguin in 1994.

His clients come from every area of life.  Many of his clients or their spouses are in the areas of finance, business, investment banking, asset management and the professions.  Some are in the entertainment industry and other arts.  Some are homemakers.

Mr. Horgan has intentionally developed the infrastructure of his practice so that he can personally be involved in every aspect of his client’s matter in order to achieve the most cost-effective and optimal result.

Although the majority of Mr. Horgan’s clients reside in the State of New York, he has represented clients in many other states. A significant portion of his practice involves international clients.
